Music affects the body in profound ways. Have you ever noticed that a certain piece of music can affect your mood?  Some music can have a relaxing effect while other musical pieces can be stimulating or take you back in time to a past experience.  All vibrations, from subtle to obvious, have specific effects on us emotionally and physically.  Sound Healing is a therapeutic field rapidly taking note by modern medicine due to its effective applications.

Science has shown us that the body and mind are intertwined. Therefore, as we allow our mind to relax the body can then in turn follow creating an environment for healing to occur.  Using sound vibrations may be the most subtle and the most powerful of all healing modalities.

Intent is the primary value to sound therapy. In essence, the frequency (number of cycles per second the sound is vibrating) plus intent equals healing or a positive therapeutic effect.
The Sound Chamber uses vibrational sound to help reduce stress, alter consciousness and create a deep sense of peace, well being, and better health.

 Deluxe Sound Healing Session:

• Releasing Sound Session: This treatment session includes a half hour intuitive reading to discover the needs of the individual and to set an intention for the overall session.  Following which you will spend approximately one hour in the Chamber, and to conclude the practitioner would give a complete chakra clearing, utilizing specialty alchemy crystal singing bowls; allowing the individual to leave feeling grounded, refreshed and rejuvenated. The advantage of this session is that it can address the emotional issues that are manifesting in the physical body that need addressing to move forward in clarity.  A truly unique healing experience.  The Releasing Sound Session is our most popular sound therapy experience and the one most frequently booked.

Follow-up Sound Healing Sessions:.

Here is an example of some of the unique Vancouver Island made products that we carry.  These are hand sculpted in Victoria by Lady Dragon Glassworks.  To create their jewellery, Lady Dragon Glassworks uses a method called lampworking.  Lampworking is the process of shaping glass by heating it with a flame produced by a torch.  These pendants are made of hard glass which is more thermal shock resistant than soft glass which makes them less fragile.  Currently we have Starfish, Northern Lights, Goddesses, Mermaids and Frogs designs available.  These make for wonderful gifts plus they come with the added bonus of supporting a local artist.

One of the greatest mysteries to Archaeologists is the discovery of “Perfect” Crystal Skulls.  These beautiful artefacts of unknown origin are void of tool marks and are dated to anywhere between 5000 and 35000 years of age.  To this day it is unknown as to how they were formed or why.  There are many theories; gifts from extraterrestrial beings, divinely created, from Atlantis, or some even believe that they are a hoax.

The theory that they are divinely created corresponds with the belief that they were the tools of Shamen & Healer’s and were used as the first computers to store information.  As we all know crystal increases vibration and it is believed that these ancient practitioners used the skulls to store information so that others could scry on the magnificent beings and recover the teachings of old.  Meditating with crystal skull increases awareness; being that the skull is the same shape as our brains it aids in bringing clarity, heightens awareness and increases visions.

The Golden Yew Healing & Gifts Inc carries many items that can be used in this sacred ritual.  We carry traditional Sacred White Sage as well as Sage sticks that include Cedar, Copal or Lavender.

We also carry Ceremonial Bowls.  The bowl or cauldron is a symbol of the womb/female energies, the Goddess and the Spirit Realm.  These bowls may be used for ceremonies and rituals, for meditation or as an altar piece.  Each bowl is hand-made and includes a small amount of Sage for burning.  Bowl themes offered include Matriarchal, Animal Totems & Goddess.

Create an intention and ensure that you get your smudge product into all directions.  For a room – go into all the corners – behind doors – inside closets starting near the floor and working your way up the walls towards the ceiling.  You can use your hand or a feather to direct the smoke where you would like it to go.  Chant a mantra as you go to fulfill your intention.  An example follows which you are welcome to use – or be creative and make your own that is unique to you.

For Smudging a Person(s)

Create an intention. Starting near the feet and using your hand or a feather to direct the smoke.  Work your way around the person on all four sides – North, East, South & West, slowly making your way towards the head.  Finish off by going around the top of the head repeating your mantra all along as you go.  An example follows, but again create your own as you see fit.

With intention I clear your energy field of any and all things that do not serve your highest good.

I surround you with the light and love – peace and joy.

(Repeat above sentences as necessary until complete)

When the smudging ritual is complete snuff out the smudge stick in your smudge bowl or use an empty jar or mug.  You do not need to use water to extinguish your smudge stick – so long as you remove the oxygen source it will burn out on its own and will be ready to use at a later time.

Note:    When burning anything ensure that great care is taken and you are aware of the precautions as embers may start fires. Always take necessary precautions to ensure safety.
